Automate removing records from portfolio using invocable actions

Remove Record from a Portfolio

Hey, it's Jack! 👋 Let me give you a quick tour of the platform.

From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Flows, select Flows

Get to Flow

Click on New Flow

This will open a blank canvas for you to choose what criteria is met before the flow is executed

Choose your flow

Select Next

When you create a new Flow, you’re prompted to select the type of Flow you wish to create and then click Next. For this example, we will be creating a Record-Triggered Flow.

Type of Flow

This is the criteria that will enable the flow to run. I have selected the Account object as that's where the data is stored.

Flow Triggers

Choose the object whose records trigger the flow when they're created, updated or deleted

Object selection

Choose when the flow will trigger from the available options

Set your triggers

Apex Actions will only trigger if the process runs aysnchronously

Run Asynchronously

Set your criteria to filter the records that the flow will select

Condition Requirements

Set the flow to run when a record is updated to meet the conditions

Updated Records

Click on Save

Name your Flow

Name your Flow  Once named click on Save 

Add a new Element

Add a new Element  From the list select Assignment 

Name your Assignment

Select the variable field and from the dropdown select New Resource

Connect ID Variable

Connect ID Variable  Select the variable field and from the dropdown select New Resource 

Select Variable from the Resource Type menu and choose a name. The example below is called ConnectIDs

Select the Data Type from the menu

You will need to select Text from the menu options

Check the multiple values box and click Done

Allow Collection

From the dropdown menu select 'Add'

Choose Operator

Select the Connect ID In this example, I'm using the Triggering Accounts Connect ID

Select the + button and from the dropdown menu select Action

Add Action

From the Action list select 'Delete Companies from Portfolio'

Delete from Portfolio

Delete from Portfolio  From the Action list select 'Delete Companies from Portfolio' 

Name your Action

You will need to enter the Input Values IDs

From the menu select the ConnectIDs Collection Variable

Company IDs

Company IDs  From the menu select the ConnectIDs Collection Variable 

This can be found from the Monitoring tab and by selecting the Portfolio

Enter the Portfolio ID
