In order for you to be able to search for a company and view or request credit information, the company must first exist in your Ledger. This tutorial shows you how to add a debtor's account to a Ledger. Please note: The currency shown in this tutorial may not match your locally configured currency settings.

Viewing Debtor Information

Viewing Debtor Information  In order for you to be able to search for a company and view or request credit information , the company must first exist in your Ledger. This tutorial shows you how to add a debtor's account to a Ledger. 

Before you add a debtor to a ledger, you must first make sure that you are adding it to the correct ledger. If you have access to multiple ledgers, open the ledger dropdown and select the one you need.

Click Customers

Click Add Debtor.

Adding the Debtor

Enter the name of the company you need to add to your Ledger, or use any of the other search fields available. This will allow you to search Creditsafe's database for the company you need to add.

   Click Search

Locate the company you want to add from the Results list and click the plus (+) symbol to start adding them to the ledger.

Because you are adding a debtor to your ledger, you should include their account number from your own accounts system so that it is saved into Ledger Insights, if you do not have a number yet enter a distinctive code to allow you to identify it easily in the future.

Click Add Debtor to save the company into Ledger Insights.

Check the information you have included and then click through the confirmation pop-up.

Ledger Insights confirms that the debtor is added. It can take up to 6 minutes for the for the company to appear in your Customers list. When available you will be able to send Alerts, AR requests etc. as usual.

Success!

You will be returned to the Add Debtor page where you can now see that the Company Status is listed as Added. To use the newly added account click on Search to locate the organisation.
